If you want to be a cook/chef and travel, sealiftcommand.com would be a good choice. Twenty yr. retirement with good pension and benefits. This is a civilian merchant seaman job. Talked & cruised the bars with a few of those guys in the Philippines and never met an unhappy one. They have a couple of ships ported in Singapore too; another pretty good port.

Offshore drilling crews need chefs also and the pay is pretty astronomical.

I hate cooking, but that doesn't sound like a bad gig.

I was working on doing it, but not as a cook. Was working toward ordinary seaman. Didn't want to take any written tests, so received ordinary seaman due to having DD-214 from previous Naval service. The big plan was to move my family to Singapore, but the little wife decided she didn't want to live there. She's gung ho 100% Han Chinese had a lot to do with that. Anyway, Singapore was the only area I was interested in, so I changed my mind and gave up on that adventure. Took my seamans papers and hung them on the wall in a picture frame.

Call Britton Transport. The company is from Grand Forks, ND, but they'd hire in Ohio. Have van/reefer div and a flatbed div. Pretty good place to work.

Abilene Motor Express would probably fit the bill on that. This company has a really good reputation with drivers.
