I have a question for current Wal-Mart drivers. When are most of your deliveries/runs? During the day or night?

My father would usually do GM during the day and evening while Groceries seem to be late night loads.

Depends - most GM loads (1st truck) deliver by 1600. But they can be pulled ahead from the night before and dropped. The only exception is noise ordinance stores which can't be dropped beyond a certain time. Groceries are usually dropped by 2200 - but these times are general - frozen/dairy loads for the most part run at night, but again, with a few exceptions, these are pulled by 3rd party carriers (prime, swift, us express, etc). I guess what I'm trying to say is, there are no set times across the fleet. Each DC, region, etc has their own specific rules. The DC in Monroe, Ga is experimenting with all of their grocery loads delivered by 1800 - a pilot program. Some stores are doing a 1400 delivery time for their GM loads instead of 1600. Don't know if this is a clear answer or not.

    Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

I worked the holiday since it was my last work day of the week. Will enjoy my turkey day with family on Friday. We had a nice spread of food at the Sealy DC today, so Friday will be my second turkey meal! :)

It was a pretty easy day since we had all the grocery loads done by 11am and GM loads done by 2pm today. Rest of the day was spent moving pallets and import loads from Baytown to Sealy. Traffic on the roads around Houston was light and the weather cooperated pretty well. I am glad to be home now and not have to deliver any store loads on Black Friday. :)
