Why do you have to drop a trailer?
-
Y
You can't run a 2 trailer roadtrain into Sydney, or other state capitals like Melbourne or Brisbane. The other state capitals like Perth, Adelaide and Darwin you can, in fact in Darwin you can run 53.5 meter (175') triples which is quite a sight to see with them going through the industrial suburbs. -
@Ozdriver How difficult is it to cross the Blue Mountains going to Sydney in a Semi ?
-
This is the way they pull goldhofer modular trailers here with 2" pin.Attached Files:

Hurst, Al. Roper, MJ1657 and 1 other person Thank this. -

It's a white knuckle drive the first time you do it. Lots of steep grades and tight corners on 2 lane roads with plenty of traffic. It takes a few trips to learn where to go slow or let it run off a hill. I don't go on that road often enough to know every bend. It's worse at night in winter with fog and rain and fast local trucks that know every inch of the way up your ###.

How close to home can you bring your road train Echuca?
-
It's about 200 kms from Moama to where we load in Melbourne. It's only legal to run a roadtrain to Moama in NSW just over the river from Echuca, Vic. No roadtrains allowed in Victoria. Longest dog run I do is from Portland Vic to Adelaide which is 550 kms.Pipe 40 Thanks this.
