Lessors run 68 mph and A&R Logistics runs 67 mph, but don't hire new CDL grads.

Averitt is anal... uniforms, facial hair rules, have to cover up tattoos and can't bring your truck home
They better pay .60 a mile with all those Natzi rules but they don't

    Chinatown Thanks this.

I have been doing a lot of research about the field before I made the decision to be a professional driver. It is something I can do for the next 20 years if I choose to, and not be stuck in a cubicle, staring at a computer screen, or attached to a CNC mill or lathe for 55 hours a week, growing mold under my chin. I figure my 30+ years experience in other fields will give me an edge with some of the better companies after I get some miles under my belt. I can't get a road test until early January, so I will be checking out those companies in the meantime. Thanks for the info.

SNI? Too bad their freightliners look like junk. I agree about the orange standing out but their tractors don't match the trailers at all. platinum with orange trailer or white with orange trailer. Look like melted ice cones.

Add Freymiller to your list; didn't think about them earlier. They also hire new cdl grads even though the website has 6 mos. exp. required.

    Schneider Bulk - tankers
    Watkins-Shepard
    Abilene Motor Express
    Tyson Foods
    Freymiller

You can submit applications right now using their online apps. Don't have to wait until you graduate and have CDL in hand. This gives you time to go over the job offers and pick the one you like best.

I'll have to call Freymiller Monday and see what the deal is. I applied there as well. Guess I am out of the hiring area.

It doesn't have to look pretty for me to run with it. From what I have learned so far, the first year is going to be all about learning the ropes. Might as well go with a company with good training, and lots of run options.
One old timer driver told me that the ugliest truck on the lot. is the one making the most money. No note to pay off, so the profit goes into his bank account, not the lease company.
    Nice AMX btw.

I am in good shape, and not afraid of strapping up, or tarping. I have chained up low boys before too, and will do what I have to do for a couple years to get higher up on the food chain. Excuse my ignorance, but what does " slinging furniture", mean?
You obviously don't care for Schneider, what would you recommend if you were breaking in to the field all over again?
