Do they provide training as well?

Since I'm single and have no particular ties to any location, I plan on staying on the road as much as possible once I'm turned loose.

I'd stay away from England if I were you, man.

Just peruse through some of AfterShock's posts about them.

**chuckle** I knew y'all would come crawlin' out of the woodwork sooner or later! :biggrin_2559:

Like I told AfterShock, I can do a year in the worst hell holes standing on my head. Gotta thank Uncle Sugar for that ability. I'm not going to lease, and just want to be a company driver.

Had a sweet deal set up with the local Roadmasters, but I didn't have my 214 handy. So that all fell through because I had to order another copy and it's going to take at least 6 weeks before I see the replacement copy.

Biker, call SNI and see what they have to say. I think they are a great company to start out with and you can use your GI bill in some cases. My husband has the sucky GI Bill, and it is not worth much..

I reckon you might be alright if'n ya stay away from the flease operator BS.

Like that song says, if your goin' through hell just keep on goin'.

I'm pretty thick skinned too and hard headed enough to push my way through a lot of BS in order to get to my goal.

I may be wrong here, but I think that anyone can make it through anything if they just persevere and remain headstrong. Don't be scared of that bull. Just take that sucker down and show it who's boss.

I was thinking about my current job on my way to work this morning. I really enjoy my job and the folks I work with, but I could be making more money and living a lot more comfortably with another company or going back OTR. Instead of jumpin' into that greener grass, I'm just gonna keep on keepin' on and scrapin' by from one paycheck to the next. So long as I can keep my nose out of the water, I can still breathe. Right?

Persistence and dedication are two traits that seem to have all but disappeared from our society.

Unfortunately, I'm part of a select few that got screwed on the GI Bill thing. When I first went in, they had VEAP. Since I was getting 75 percent tuition assistance at the time, I saw no need to enroll. They cut off the enrollment to VEAP, and shortly after that, cut the tuition assistance way down. Wasn't eligible for the Montgomery GI Bill. **sigh**

LOL - yeah, Shockey has a few things to day, doesn't he?

As for the 214 - I had to order mine, too.. they said "up to 6 weeks".. I had it in less than 2. YMMV. (kinda like my Hazmat endorsement - they said up to 6 weeks, and I had it all done and my lic endorsed in 8 days)

I filled out Schneiders online application 2 days ago and got an offer on a dedicated Wal-Mart gig yesturday morning and I have a phone interview today. They didn't even waste any time with me and I don't have much experience, just 2 months.
