Wife and I want to buy truck and team with them, however my dac has some old crap thats says i had 4 accidents in 4 months and not true but when i challenged it with dac, they would not budge. Short of getting a lawyer, I just try to explain it. Stuff on dac is 4-5 yrs old. Truth is 1 accident and 1 incident in bobtail trk. How strick would they be on hiring me?

One yr since your last preventable is what they told me.
Dunno what they'll say about that many. Call em and ask. -
I'm not sure if they would let you get in. You could always call.
I'd wait to buy a truck if you haven't already owned one.
They are getting cheaper by the day. -
This thread has a hell of a lot of good information in it. I am impressed.

Any of you LandStar guys out there. If you go to LS broker page there are quite a few loads shown at any time. How many more are there on an average day for LS drivers on their pages that are for you guys only? Have only seen the demo pages on their info pages. Guy I drive PT for is having trouble getting flatbed loads on a consistent basis with the folks he is leased to. Showed him the LS broker board and he was couldn't believe how much was out there compared to what he was hearing from his people. I told him I don't know, but if this is what they are turning out there must be a lot more for their guys. Thanks.

When I was leased to them that board only showed half OR LESS of what was available on the lease board.
Lets just say there is a fraction on the broker board, of what there is on the lease op board.Last edited: Jul 10, 2008

Thank you!
When you look at it all day to day there isn't a lot of change, but when you look back at the 2 weeks since the fire you can see improvement. -
Hey Buddy, I know the feeling about wanting to be home with the kids and I'm sorry that you sold your truck. On the otherhand, I was thinking about getting back out there and Landstar was allways one of my biggest fans. I hope you would be kind enough to give me a heads-up on this company. I will be running out of CA and trying to average 3000 miles per week, is this possible? How hard was it for you to get to know the agents/brokers? Were they pretty fair? I have owned 2 trucks but sold them, this time I need to make it work and will be even more dedicated than before. This brings me to another question, I was thinking about picking up a 53' van along with the truck, what do you think, is this a good idea? I have pulled trailers for two years and really don't like paying that 1300-3000 per month, when you can finance a new one for that it just never made sence. I guess my qustion is, is there enough live loads with Landstar to use my own trailer, or would I be better off using thier's in order to drop and hook to preloads.
Thanks for the help,
Chuckie50

Hey, BF and I are hoping to join LS by September and I had a few questions.
1. How long after orientation do you get your first check?
2. What are some of the best areas for highpaying loads?
Any other tips for us newbies is appreciated.
