Hey everyone, happy holidays and it's so great to see a bunch of happy drivers! What a concept...
I've got about 15 years driving now, and at 57, was looking for my last job...I used to live in central FL and the pickings were slim. I actually applied at Ashley's Brandon, FL PTP position, about 3 years ago, but didn't cut it.
Just moved to the Atlanta, GA area, and lo and behold, saw an ad for an Atlanta PTP position...applied right away, and had a great almost 1 hour interview with Nate in their recruiting dept. He answered all my questions, then set me up for a second interview, via Skype, with a great gentleman out of Advance, NC, who answered all my questions during yet another hour long interview. Although he said he was covering for the gent who normally handled the Atlanta area, which apparently is based in Ecru, MS...that hustling suburb...of I don't know where....lol. But not important, I'll go anywhere they need me to, happily.
Bottom line, everyone came away happy from the interviews, and I received a conditional job offer...which of course I accepted! Had the physical/drug screen done here...and if I were near a major hub of theirs I would've done a road test...but Atlanta apparently only has a drop yard. So I will fly out Sunday morning to begin my adventure with Ashley - do the road test Monday...and if all goes well, orientation officially begins Tuesday.
They seem like a first class outfit all the way - and I can't wait to get started. I'll share my adventures here, for anyway who cares...as long as it we can keep it friendly and upbeat. I'll also be happy to answer any questions I can as I go along. I hope they're saving a Volvo 780 for me, that's my dream truck. The gentleman (I'm saving his name because he isn't in the "public domain" at Ashley) from the second interview told me that they still do have 780s out of the Ecru area, where I'll be officially based apparently, but that the newer models are 670s and KWs.
Bless you all, stay safe and happiest of holidays!trucker43 and ASHLEYDRIVER2013 Thank this. -
