Years ago ARCO had a driver that woke up late at a station in the bushes and called the dispatcher at the terminal and said he had been robbed. He was in N. Hollywood and was out for over 4 hours. Doesn't know who would do it such a thing especially since the truck went to the refinery and loaded twice then was abandoned a couple of blocks away from the station. (go figure) There's been loaded trucks stolen right out of Vinvale with the gate guard and all. There's a lot of stories and reasons why gasoline trucks are stolen including ending up in Mexico. So I can understand a company wanting a good security system in place. The only problem is finding one that works.

Seems kind of dumb to steal a gas truck. Heard on the radio yesterday somebody stole a reefer with $150k worth of walnuts. Much better use of your time than trying to steal $20k worth of gas.

Our trucks have a killswitch and require a password be entered every time the truck is turned off, and all the trucks are different. It is kind of annoying but it works.

Just curious. How is the freight cost calculated from terminal to station? Is it by the gallons, miles, or both? Lets say you are delivering 8500 gallons of regular to a station 60 miles one way from the terminal. Thanks
