I can't complain using retreads during "Winter", even though I never use them. But in the summer, it a different story. Some will swear on them, but its all up to the individual. I had my fair share using caps in the beginning, a major manufacturer guaranteed the cap and casing for so many miles, when I blew the casing and it was barely under the warranty limited( and I mean barley) , they denied the claim. Since that day, I never looked or thought of using a retread. Did I mentioned the overly priced recap? Go figure. Lesson was learned, I was also green as they come as a O/O way way back then.

I think everybody that's driven a truck has thrown an "alligator" or 2. ( for me, pulling RR junk, it was 2 a week, if you were lucky) I always ran virgin tires on the tractor. Can you imagine my horror, to find out airplanes use recaps?
