A sleeper had to meet dot requirements for size and other things. A modified back seat may be big enough to sleep in but is not big enough to be dot approved. It is stupid, but it's the law.
Must be 75 inches long among other things.
What can I do with a F350?

Oh don't I know it's stupid...but looking at the dimensions for DOT approved, it can be attained in the back. Without having to cut and weld the cab.
chris887 Thanks this. -
Right now you're on "Questions From New Drivers" so just scroll down to "Expediter and Hot Shot Trucking Forum."Straight Stacks Thanks this.

umm,no sir,you just cant make some minor "modifications"
lf you want to log sleeper time you must have a sleeper as defined in 393.76 of the DOT R&Rs -

Run over a GMC?
-
Some of the sleeper kits like the one at https://www.woodhouse.com/sleeper_berth do meet the DOT sleeper berth regs.
Only really needed if you running as a team as using the sleeper birth is only required now if the truck is moving.Last edited: Dec 3, 2015
