Question for you guys. Can you run a 75w connex in a truck with stock power supply. Wilson 2000 antenna. Coax is not stock either just the power supply.
I have a general lee that has been a piece of crap since I got it so Im looking to replace it. Looking at a connex 3300hp on bells cb and Im wondering if I should upgrade the mosfets to 75w peak power? Thank you for the help.

The only reason that Connex radio was a piece of crap was because a so called "technician" did something to it that he wasn't qualified to do. That radio was perfectly fine until till somebody tampered with it. I hope you don't plan on buying your next radio from the same guy that screwed up your last one because I think you will be unhappy with the results this time around as well.

    I have a Connex 3300hp, I don't think they can put out 75 watts,
On a Prostar the stock power wire was too puny and I had to run a wire down to the fuse panel.
On this Cascadia, the stock power wire does good.

I totally agree. I bought it from a company that I found out after the fact wasn't a good company. Hell all he did to ship it to me was turn the original box inside out...
From what Ive heard from others is bells cb is a good place to get one. But Im trying to find out if I should get the finals upgraded. Or if I can run 75w with a stock power supply or if I need to run straight from the battery.

Your best bet is to leave the radio alone and not have anybody tamper with it and it should work pretty decent right out of the box. Nobody is going to notice the difference between a 4 watt radio or a 10 watt radio

General Lee is an excellent 10 meter radio. Sounds like yours is not set up right. I've been running one for many years with no issues. I have a friend that swears by the Connex line of radioes. I also run a Superstar 158 in my pick-up truck. Also a great radio.

Only thing you need done to the radio is the frequency conversion.. it will not work on cb frequencies without it.
No need for the "mosfet upgrade". That radio should do 50w pep out of the box..

If i was you i would have the gen Lee checked by reputable tech bottom line it might cost you less than you think to achieve same results.

Also i wouldn't add any power to the 3300, freq conversion and only i mean only if you know a good tech i would have tx/rx aligned for optimal results.

30 watts or 60 watts wouldn't make any difference.

    Good luck!
