For the piles of filth resembling people who shot up a center for developmentally disabled adults earlier today:

Cowards. Your deaths were well deserved. The families of those you cut down in cold blood will grieve. You will not be there. Their pain and grief will eventually no longer consume them. You will not be there. Eventually they will find themselves able to smile again. One by one, they will look up and see the sun shining and the seasons changing and the world going on and they will find the courage and strength to continue living. They will know happiness again as their hearts heal, and they will be able to remember their fallen loved ones with real, if wistful, joy. Good things will be done in their honor, perhaps a scholarship fund, maybe a park named for some of the victims--something will be made or done so that your victims will be remembered in some context other than the horror you perpetrated upon us all today. Eventually some good will come of this, somehow. But you will not be there, because you will be experiencing the eternal consequences of your actions, of the poisonous hatred you have nurtured in your hearts and allowed to fester until it spilled over in a destructive frenzy that took so many dear ones from their families and friends. Your victims are comforted now, but for you an eternity of horror is only just beginning.

I cannot put my mind into a place where I can begin to comprehend what would motivate you to do something so diabolical. I pray I can never go to a place mentally where I could understand.

You planned this thing so meticulously. How much good could you have accomplished with such ingenuity and drive? Instead you twisted your abilities to take away the futures of fourteen innocent people (at last count).

By now, you know that death is not the end. I hope, wherever you are, that you can see your victims being comforted as you writhe in agony where your flame does not quench and your worm does not die. Your condemnation is deserved. You are twice dead, and you will be remembered only briefly with disgust before your names are forgotten, discarded from history like crumbs blown away by an errant breeze and trampled underfoot.

Life is not fair. If it were fair, you would never have visited this agony upon those families. Life is, however, just. The scales will balance--as you are no doubt only just beginning to comprehend.

Long after you have been forgotten, you will burn for this.

3hrs out from Walmart in Olney IL. The load will only be about 10 hrs late.

I laid my cards on the table and basically BEGGED to get home after spilling my guts with a sob story about how bad things are getting (haven't been able to access my money in the bank for over a week).

I now have a preplan getting me home. After all this time and garbage (most of which was admittedly not Gordon's fault) and repeated attempts to send me somewhere else (I blame the company for that) and my wife's first panic attack in nine years.

I think it was that last that got me wanting to leave. Not ready to pull the trigger yet but Celadon gave me a green light to come back. I wish I could afford the "affordable" Obamacare insurance and go back to leasing. This never happened when I was making the payments. Thank you, Empress Pelosi, and your posse and your stooges, for ramrodding your vision of a new Utopia down my throat, against my will, for my own good.

That said, my dispatcher and terminal manager have been working with me in the face of all this insanity to get me home. They have withstood my outbursts like an old rock in a storm and helped me through every outrageous development without losing patience.

I would be remiss if I did not recognize that fact and take it into account. Not many Dispatch teams would go the extra mile like mine has.

Well, breakfast is over. Time to brush my fangs, then back to the salt mines!

Delivering in the morning then Deadhead home. Taking the weekend off.

Got a call from the regional vice president of operations today.

We talked. Seems my plight came to his attention.

He admitted that making me leave my wife behind caused a lot of the problems. He apologized to me and admitted they had dropped the ball on inter office communications, resulting in the seeming battle of wills getting me home. Seems planners in other offices weren't getting the memo that I was overdue for home time. He's revising some things on driver screens to make time off more visible and to make overdue home time a flag that locks the screen and has to be acknowledged before the planner can proceed.

My flabber is pretty well gasted.

I think I'm going to give it a little longer. Anyway, I've never made a decision while angry that worked out well for me. And now that I'm not foaming at the mouth anymore, I'm remembering all the good stuff from working here (I have only sat once in four months, plenty of freight, great dispatch team [daytime, anyway], decent equipment, good benefits, outstanding safety score, [mostly] competent maintenance, decent pay, top notch payroll department, OS&D are very quick to respond, $0.03 surcharge to the driver for any reefer loads, annual safety bonus of $0.01/mile [to start], green light on 90% of prepass sites [see above regarding safety scores]).

Add to all that the fact that my new truck will do 65 (once a certain mpg goal is reached) and in spite of the holiday nightmare I've had this is a decent place to work.

They still got you in that midroof single bunk truck? If so, is the floor comfortable?

It's a condo. Just a single bunk. And since neither of us is a lard bottom, we both fit on the bunk. Albeit less comfortably than if we each had our own berth.

Anyway, after a weekend of much needed R&R, we'll be getting a confirmed double bunk unit (they thought this one was a double but were mistaken).

    Dominick253 and mitrucker Thank this.

Just finished last drop, bobtailed to a little steak house across the street for dinner, then quick hop to Indy yard for time off. I'll see you all Monday. Peace out!

Apparently I am the Love Rhino.

What kind of noise does a love rhino make?

    Do rhinos even make noise?

Also, I think I'm pretty well at the top of the endangered list.

I'm sticking with Captain Zoom. Not only is it cooler, it also better characterizes my typical performance than Love Rhino.

    Sigh.
