Small program I was asked to make by a friend of mine.
Good way to see what you can make if you lease.
Download the zip file. only 1 meg. if you think of something i need to add just let me know.
Zip file name is Truck-Lease.Zip should be at the bottom below the picture.
The Clear button will clear all the numbers on the program.
If you type all of your numbers in and want to change just one or two, just hit the Calculate button again to see the changes. That way you wont have retype all of the numbers back in.
Also this only calculates the Fuel Surcharge on the loaded miles.

Only thing I see is IFTA isn't a fixed cost. It varies according to miles driven, where you drive, and where and how much fuel you buy.
Straight Stacks Thanks this. -

Made a call to a random company to get a bit of information on leasing. Maybe this will help some people out.
The company name is GDS (I know nothing of them, they were just the first ones that sent a PDF with any information) they use a few places to lease from they told me, but the main one is called Quality Company. After calling GDS I called Quality and found that they have 20 truck lots with all kinds of trucks and years very. You pick out a truck, find things wrong with it they fix it at the lot. After you leave you have 30 days to find anything else you can wrong with the truck including interior issues. They stated they cover bumper to bumper for the first 30 days. payments range from 150 to 630 per week. the breakdown i was given is as follow.
2007-2008 150.00 to 200.00 per week
2009 - 250.00
2010 - 325.00
2011 - 375.00
2012 - 425.00
2013 - 475.00
2014 - 525.00
2015 - 2016 =575.00 & 630.00
GDS information.
$0.92 Loaded Mile
$0.92 Empty Miles (Dispatched Miles)
Was told the Fuel Surcharge for them was $0.18 (loaded Miles)
Bobtail Insurance (included with Truck payment with Quality)
Physical Damage (included with Truck payment with Quality)
Occupational Accident Insurance $48.00 Per Week
2290 is to be paid upfront. (I was told they will help pay this and take it out in 4 payments starting week 3 - I was told it is a max of $550.00 per year so the max deduction would be 137.50 for 4 weeks - they told me as of Friday the price was 366.00 for the remainder of the year. So it looks like it is prorated.)
Plates $43.00 Per Week
Pre-Pass $5.00 Per Week
Qualcomm $7.00 Per Week
Transflo Scanning $6.25 Per Week
Insurance Surcharge $38.00 Per Week
Maintenance Fund Optional *(200.00 per week can use at your disposal)
Escrow $100.00 (15 weeks)

OOIDA has a spreadsheet on their website that is similar, perhaps a little more detailed.
scottlav46 Thanks this. -
Yeah man I downloaded that a while back and played with it some, changed some formulas around to better match my situation and holy cow what a handy little thing really opened my eyes to some things I hadn't fully taken into consideration.
