That line looks like its been bad a while, I'm surprised the shop did not catch it on its last Oil change. They stand out pretty well when down in a pit!
Is this a coolant leak?

Gotta love road salt!
-
Mine on my truck started leaking right at the weld for the bracket to the frame. Apart from that mine looked brand new. Not a cheap part. Just buy some silicone coolant hose and bypass them steel lines. Much easier and cheaper. Half an hour or so and your on your way cheap
-
It's all fixed! It was rusted, entirely. It actually snapped during the removal process.
New line and new filter. -
good deal...make sure its tight. Glad your all fixed up
-
Now it's a new hell! My analog temp gauge thinks its well into the red whenever I start the truck, even when the digital one reads 35° farehnheit....
-
Are you talking about your water temp gauge? Did the shop mess with the sensor when they replaced those coolant lines?
-
Probably. It goes back to normal quickly, but the fan kicks on for a minute when I start now.
-
Doesn't sound like anything to worry about, as long as it acts right after its running. My fan runs for a while when I start my truck as well, no matter the temperature.
GiantBeard Thanks this. -
That something you need to get checked. Depending on how the ECM is set,it can go into limp mode or shut down. It could be temp sensor going bad, most of the time it's the wiring right at the plug.
