Worst ice storm I ever saw was down by Brawley. Real humdinger....
-
Attach a string to the antenna put a knot on the tip, run the string to your driver window / pull it every ten minutes to thwack the ice off. Repeat as necessary
-
a string ? eventually they'll break, someone's going to sell heated antennas one day, until then suggestions have been made.
-
perhaps installing another set where you're able to reach them would help.

A tennis ball.
White_Knuckle_Newbie, rachi and tinytim Thank this. -
I used to have a 10' whip on my pickup, I put a tennis ball on it to keep it from beating my bed to death but idk if it will help on the cab. worth a shot though.
-
a tennis ball on these ?
will they break ? -
Likewise for me.

I've had antennas (antennae for you smart ones) ice up and break off in fog. A tennis ball could keep them from beating on yer cab, or maybe a small bungee cord to keep them from flopping around
