Why use 2nd gear if fully loaded. I would think 1st would be best in this situation along with some throttle.
-
Yeah I start in a low gear but I'm thinking that I am keeping my foot on the brake too long maybe alsoPaulMinternational Thanks this.

Swedish Chef, O.Henry, chris887 and 1 other person Thank this. -
It will take experience, but dca is right, second works most of the time, but if it's a steep hill, use low. If it's downhill, sometimes I use third, but I'm careful with it. If the truck shakes or shutters, it's too high of a gear. And I try not to use throttle until the clutch is fully engaged. Clutches are expensive.
truckingmechanic Thanks this.
