I can handle the hotel for so long. Usually 30 minutes early to catch the shuttle back to the terminal.
I do miss the sleeper

Truck is all done, just have to wait for load planners to get in tomorrow to run the crap out of me to make up for a weekend of sitting.

Hate that you was broke down but glad you broke the lease agreement down. Now I have a question to ask that I do not understand. You state that it is a 15 cent per mile full coverage warranty. What happens if you decide to lease a truck and it breaks down the first week or if the cost is actually more than you have in your maintenance account? That full coverage maintenance account gets me confused.
Why is it when you park for the night and you are at a truck stop with about 20 or so empty spaces and you find a place that it away from the reefers so you don't have to listen to them and here comes a reefer in and parks right beside you with it running full blast?
If it was the only place to park it would not bother me but as stated 20 or so empty spaces. Just don't understand people.Cybercat Thanks this. -
15 cpm is a full warranty program. Not a maintenance account.
Week 1 ; engine catches fire and destroys everything, you pay nothing more. It's covered.
I don't mind reefer noise. Helps me sleep.popcorn169 Thanks this. -
So your driving a Lease truck for 75 (less the 15 cents from the 90 cents) cents a mile plus your fuel/road tax/food and truck payment ... and it goes up to a $1.16.. you would be better off buying your own truck and either leasing it on to another company or getting your own authority.. I never started my truck for less than $2.50 a mile but I'm part of the Left Lane Runners from back in the day.. Hope all goes well for you...RW -
I'm willing to bet your fixed cost is over $400 too.
A means to an end. I'm already past the point of no return. I guess I'll fail into truck ownership next year and then a new thread can be started dwelling on how I did it all wrong .TB John and mountaingote Thank this. -
"You would be better off..."
Each of is have unique situations. This isn't a cookie cutter world where each of us is dealt the same hand.
Until you walk a mile in their shoes, it's difficult to dictate what would be better for them.
If someone is sitting waiting on a bus to take them 7 blocks.."you would be better off walking it" may make sense, except you don't know that person has severe pain when they walk. Sure, they are capable, but the bus is less painful.
I'm sure after they get to the destination they'll be greeted with jeers of how they are wannabe commuters. Real commuters walk it...do it the "right way"
It has zero impact on your life on some else lives theirs . Why try to convince or influence them? Unless you're trying to get votes.RidgeRunner731 and mountaingote Thank this. -
Keep it up, wicked

I'm seeing a lot of new people thanking old posts on this thread. I'm glad it's endured enough to bring new "readers ?"
As I heard in Star Trek once.
I'm here to help, I come in peace.
(Shoot to kill...)4mer trucker and mountaingote Thank this. -
You do well, taking the haters in stride. Yeah, the cpm is lower than I would be happy with, but you are obviously making it work. There is no right or wrong way to get through life. Ice cream comes in a lot of flavors, so does all the other choices we make as individuals. Keep it up!
Hopefully, some day, the haters will realize that they're just blowing smoke and being ignored.Lazydog, popcorn169 and mountaingote Thank this.
