It is called PHYSICS!. A car weighs even a heavy sort ute maybe 3 tons a truck EMPTY is 17 tons on average. Momentuim is Mass times Velocity SQUARED. Even if we do everything we could to stop even at 25 MPH impact we have enough energy left to crush any car we do hit. Of course you or your family would be the kind of person to blame the RR for not stopping for you when you went around a MARKED and GATED with Flashing lights crossing. It takes a 18500 ton coal train over 7800 feet to make an EMERGANCY STOP. Now I am friends with alot of RR engineers and also trucking company executives and they flat out state that they are putting onboard cameras on a loop to record what happens in front of the units to stop lawsuits without merit like when a Sucide dive crosses infront of a trucker and then slams on the brakes showing those in court would cause ALOT of insurance compaines to start fighting rather than settle and make them less attractive targetws for Personal Injury Bloodsucking ATTYs.

I'm sorry Animal Lover, but you have failed to prove your point. What was it?

What are you thinking, posting a link to a lawyer who specializes in Commercial Vehicle Accidents to "prove" your point?? That proves nothing. It is his livelihood to prove anyone but his client is at fault.

Pardon me while I laugh my fat butt off!!

I am sick and tired of people who blame everything on truck drivers.....Even when it is a accident between 4 wheelers they will say a Big truck cut me off and thats why I hit you from behind......Give me a break what idots......The truth of it all is a Truck Driver does not get up and say I am going to drive reckless today and maybe i will kill someone or just hurt them badly......Not just that we can only be so careful so attenitive to what we do in our life I am sure someone in your life got up one morning ready to go to work but never made it out the door, or to work, or home that evening......Meaning our life is already planned for us our death is already planned we don't know when but God does he takes the good, bad, and ugly when it is time.....My husband was a truck driver sense he was 17 years old he died being a Great father, husband, son, brother and most of all Truck Driver it was in is blood....he died September 10,2007 doing what he loved driving a truck he would have had it no other way.....It was a single accident he was the only one involved and it was nothing he did or nothing anyone else did....It was a bizzare accident as he was driving down I-10 when his trailer went up and hit a over head sign pulling it down onto the cab of the truck which hit his head and he fell out the drivers door and the rear wheels of the trailer ran over him he died at the scene.....But he woke up that morning at 3:00am had coffee and went to his truck hit the road about 4:45am and died around 5:15am never came home again......I can only thank God no one else was involved I am sure they would have been front and center to blame the TRUCK DRIVER........Just remember TRUCK DRIVERS are people too and have families that love them and have to worry everytime they are out there on the road.......Thanks and sorry this was so long I was trying to get my point across
