Often times I don't claim I can't get in somewhere. I just assess the situation, decide it isn't worth the risk to the 150,000 dollars worth of truck and trailer my boss entrusted me with, and say I'm not going to try. They can get upset if they want. I do my absolute best to provide excellent customer service. But I don't figure it's my fault the job site is a crap hole. But it is my fault if I damage my truck, trailer, or load.

I would agree, however I've seen perfectly good driveways, level straight, easy to access and still seen guys refuse to back in because they "can't". Its usually an excuse.

With the right amount of money anything can be done, wether or not it is economically feasible is a whole different story. I would look at a putting on a dump or lift axle.

Most jobs sites aren't that bad. The last one i was on, however, wasn't capable, or setup for 70 foot semi. The only path, was still dug up from all the crap installed in the ground. And the only entrance on the cement floor. I had to fold in my mirrors.

IT WAS ONE TIGHT FIT AND A LOT OF MANEUVERING. and considering the semi snaking his way out. It was an argument i wasn't going to win.

With the tandem set to the rear it's going to handle like a 53'. You might not get the maneuverability you need.

Well guys I pulled the trigger on a trailer today. It is a 1996 Fontaine step deck with 8 aluminum 22.5's. It was originally a 48' but TMI completely tore it down, sandblasted and painted it, new apitong floor, new brakes, and added their dovetail and ramps making it 53' overall. It has spread axles but they are hooking up a dump on the rear one for me.
