It would've helped me a TON today. I came over a hill on I-75 here in GA and traffic was completely stopped. I got it stopped in time, but I must say my heart skipped a few beats, much like the transmission skipped a few gears. I got on the radio and sarcastically thanked everyone for the warning I never received, then I noticed I was on channel 20 from when I had gotten sick of the chatter earlier.

LOL....I've pulled out of places where you'd have to be on a different channel to talk to someone and spend the next 10 minutes on the wrong channel myself ...hollering for a northbound or something and getting pissed.Happens.:biggrin_255:

I did get a picture of one of the most interesting loads I've seen in a while, though, while in the traffic jam and on the wrong CB channel.

Excuse the quality, a cell phone can only do so much.

LOL....We run a lowboy around here and my buddy who owns the truck is as retarded as I am and the day he brought his new trailer in,we drove down to the coffee shop with a pedal tractor lashed down on it so we could tell the naysayers that it hadn't been home 15 mins and already we had a load for it.Pretty funny at the time.

Makes me wonder if the boys in the scalehouse could do something about having it on the trailer and not having bills.

I have not read this whole thread but I can say that I thought the same way as you do/did. I was a WalMart one day and was in an isle that had CB's in them, I saw one for $35.00 (Cobra 18 I think?.) and said "what the hell, the truck has antennas already" and bought it. Went right outside to the truck and hooked it up.

2 hours down the road doing 75 mph I hear "south bound, Bear 101 over something taking pictures", I look at my mile marker and it says 102 over something and slow myself down to the legal limit of 55. Just as I pass the mile marker that was called out on the radio I see a Connecticut state trooper clocking radar, well what do you know, my radio just paid for itself in no time at all...

Well to make a long story short, I'M in over my head with CB antennas, radios, mods, cables, this and that and what-not...

    Muleskinner Thanks this.
