Far as I know,no. That us the only way to get the mofo right enuf. That is all I have run is snap style. Just make sure the all pivot free, if it's frozen try slamming it on the ground to try and free it up. If it don't time to toss it and buy new (or get company to buy new)

Time to toss it in a bucket of diesel maybe. On second thought just send me all your frozen up binders instead of trashing them.spyder7723, cnsper, Sneakerfix and 3 others Thank this.
-
I have many of both. Inherited the lever binders and used them until I got my first ratchet binder. After using the ratchets I bought a lot more and have not used the levers since.
The levers are faster if you know what you are doing but they are dangerous. My grandfather who is no longer with us had his ankle shattered by one. -
I still use both but I will tell you from experience if you don't respect a snap binder this is what you'll wear the rest of your life -
KenworthGuyNH Thanks this. -
Did that happen to you? Ouch.
Still I keep hearing about people who insist on using the old ones. Why are they better? -
They aren't better. Probably cheaper ( until you get the dentist bill) Some people just can't change. There may be a time where space is an issue, but I've found, anywhere a lever one is used, a ratchet one can be used too. Again, when a chain loosens up (which it will) a quick twist of the ratchet and you are on your way.

Thanks,
Is the chain more likely to loosen with a ratchet binder or lever binder? -
Both depends on ur load
-
Can you specify? In which case would I be more tempted to use a lever binder?
-
Won't matter. Flatbed loads will move around. Has nothing to do with the binder used.
