Are you saying you're going to stay company for 10 years?
-
My plan is to stay company as long as I have to to fully rebuild a truck. And I'm figuring saving 10k a year for 10 years is 100k. So 100k into a 10k beater would be a brand new truck inside and out.
-
In 10 years, your old beater truck that is all rebuilt, might not even meet the EPA emissions standards to run on the road as a business.
ramblingman and dca Thank this. -

I don't know man..its one thing to have a hobbie and another to plan a long-term investment. But, anyways, don't let anyone stop you..any step forward is better no risks at all.
-
Or sock that money in the bank, let it collect interest, and then buy a brand new truck with a warranty versus what would then be a 20+ year old truck that may or may not be road legal at that point.
-
Wouldn't the truck be grandfathered in so to say. Kind of like the cab overs of today. And if I plan accordingly I can always do the engine last and put a newer engine in.
-
another investment or more may have some return. Iowa 80 has a truck museum.
-
true I could always sell it and use the cash to buy a new truck.
