I will share a funny story that will give insight to my initial response above...
Several years ago a man approached a friend of mine for advice because he "came into some money."
My friend asked, "How much?
"About $20!" He replied.
My friend said, "Go buy Mamma (his wife) some roses!"
Probably the best $20 the man had spent in a while.![]()
Danged if I do?

I don't know how your credit is either, but if you pay everything off and use your credit wisely for a year or two they will let you finance anything you want. My wife had zero credit and within two years I had her rating to over 750.

Not a bad idea. And I bet for some people I can even get a lumper fee!

Buy a nice condo somewhere you want to retire. Rent it for extra income and save the rent money for a nest egg for retirement. I did something similar, but didn't come in to any money though. Just saved for it instead.

You have less time to do things on 'your' terms owning your own truck. At least now you are off when off, with money in your pocket. Buy a truck, and the rest of your life when you aren't driving or working on that truck you are neglecting something that needs to get done. Unless you have some 200k plus gig lined up, buy a new dog or something.Rock 'n Roll Relocater Thanks this.

Oh they can take it if they want... Property taxes where I'm at cost me $5,000 a year. Ducking sucks.

Me too! Had zero credit two years ago and last I checked it was 762. Didn't get any line of credit until I was 26 and was one of the best things I've done. All of my friends got cards when they turned 18 and now there whole check goes to payments. Cars, apartment, debt, Ect. I figured out early that's its better to save up $10k to buy a car than pay $14k after financing. Plus when you're buying with cash money you have a bigger say in the terms.farmboy73, Rock 'n Roll Relocater and rabbiporkchop Thank this.
