So this new elog mandate that just came out from the Feds.
I guess it's saying that trucks that are older than year 2000 are exempt from having to install the mandatory electronic recorder on your truck.(meaning trucks mod 99,98,97,96 etc)
My truck an FLD120, on the motor is stamped mod 99, and on the door cab sticker also says
    manufacture date: 99
Yet on the truck title it says year 2000
So i just trying to figure out where I stand on this issue. Is my truck a 99 or 2000?
    any help appreciated. thanks
    tony

I understand that year 2000 is exempt as well.

Don't worry about that right now, give it 2 years and see where this all goes. you have other things to worry about right now, I am for sure.

i doubt it ever goes into effect in 2yrs however pertaining to 2000 model trucks, if your truck was manufactured in 2000 you are not exempt, but if you have one that was manufactured in 99 but yet is a 2000 model you are exempt, like my truck was manufactured February 9th 2000, im not exempt, dont know your date its inside driver door, cant read it, call a dealership give them your VIN and they can tell you

It doesn't go by date of manufacture. Goes by model year (the vin). It is in page 75 of the ruling.

you are right but its earliest mention of its is on page 12, thats why i said earlier if the manufacture date inside door isnt visible call your manufacture or dealer and they can run VIN# for date, mine was Feb 2nd 2000; at bottom of page 12 >. • Drivers of vehicles manufactured before model year 2000.also first mentioned on page 8

There is no contradiction. page 12 says before model year 2000. nothing about built before a certain date. page 75 says how they determine model year (by vin)
