Training pay is barely enough to live on in the truck. You won't be saving any money during that time.
Even when I went through it 5 years ago it was OK. $450 per week, and $500 after a certain time.
But it is very much lower these days.
I've About had a belly full!

I feel your pain believe me.it just makes you angry and depressed because companies and dispatch can't see that.only time you're noticed is when you do something wrong and not even that big of a deal they won't let you forget it either.I drove for a side dump company and made a promise to myself I'm not going to complain about anything.always got. To work early never missed polite but everyday they had something to complain about my performance. many days I'd go home upset.companies like this makes drivers bitter and have a no care attitude

Roehl isn't a bad option either.

Wow.
I never get any of that kind of treatment at Swift.
No, I am not being sarcastic.
I get the monthly messages about my idle time.
Automated garbage.
But that's about it.
Even with my lazy attitude I don't get bothered by anything coming from my DM or FM, or anyone else.
Because they don't bother me. I only talk with anyone when I call, and then I am told keep up the good work.
Well, sometimes Larry seems bewildered when I call over a simple matter that I want cleared up.
And it sometimes hurts when he says, "You called me? I had higher hopes for you" - or something like that.
He is a busy guy, I understand that. If I call him 3 times in a week, it is very rare. I usually don't call more than once every 2-3 weeks.
I turn down loads that I don't like, and a better one is sent.
I idle as I need to, and I'm OK.
I leave my inverter plugged in while in the shop, and all is well.
I run as I like, period. And I am fine.
What is there to complain about?Kindle Thanks this. -
the harder one tries the worse it is.I get a lot more respect if you dont go above and beyond to try and please anyone but yourself. that company made me not care so much and just do only my job and no favors.

Exactly why I now just do my own thing.
It seems that now, I exactly to know what of Swift and they know exactly to know what of me.
Quid Pro Quo.pattyj Thanks this. -
I don't understand why drivers feel that they need and/or deserve special recognition for doing their job. So you made your deliveries on time and didn't get a ticket or hit anything? Good for you. That is your job and the company shows their appreciation each and every week by giving you a paycheck. That is all the recognition to which you are entitled.HotH2o Thanks this.

you read and assume differentlly then my posts.I never once said or implied recognition. I dont want that at all.I dont like to be treated with no respect for jobs I do because I didn't do it perfect.Ii. other words not pickers that makes a federal case out of something when you've been doing your best. the side dump company complained about every little thing every morning only to me and I couldn't see what the big deal was about.I tried real hard to fit in maybe too hard.so I decided to go back to my old ways and get respect again.

I dont want or ecspect recognition never have.but I also dont want a boss or dispatcher constantly complaining about my work either.this industry wants team players bit I guess everybody except drivers are exempt from it.
