Let's roll with speed-limiting on big rigs

You're right.And they know it too.It'll NEVER happen unless it's from the manufacturer when you buy it one of these days.They have pushed us just about as far as they can push and that would be the straw that broke the camels back.

 

I have to wonder how slow you have to drive a 40-ton rig to render it non-lethal?

 

It's a speed called "absolutely not going anywhere with the parking brakes set in the middle of a legal parking space"

 

Even parked they are lethal if struck by a speeding car.

You just cannot win against 4 wheeler's that do not drive responsibly. There are many of the big trucks the same though.

 

Your insurance co. will still investigate and determine that you should not be at that spot at that moment if some moron runs into your parked rig !!

 

And the next thing you know you rate has gone up or they have dropped you. Because you were parked in the wrong place at the wrong time.

 

You know its funny, I may not be a truck driver, but I do drive alot and its not the trucks I take issue with! Maybe they should put there speed limiter boards on cars of all 16 yr olds. Maybe some device that would walk them through a lane change on a busy interstate.
