    There wouldn't have been that much work involved in a normal load.

    @Heavy Hammer

    Was a big chunk of the $4500 go towards three days of sitting for the truck or did you bill that separately?

    Dont forget wind!!!

    I was in Kansas the other day and I wanted to cry I while trying to fold my tarps. I had to bungee it to my trailer and use 2 binders to hold what I had just done to keep the wind from redoing everything. The worst tarping in the wind experience I've ever dealt with.

    Not enough.
    Yes it was OS, fragile, and just ugly. Had to construct a frame and basically work over/around it. It wasn't strong enough to support a persons weight, so one person couldn't do it alone, hence the lifts and hired help.
    I have a phrase for all future endeavors of such ludicrous nature, "Sorry, I'm busy." Click.

    My rate is $250/tarp. I don't tarp much, but if a customer is willing to pay my rate, I will tarp and smile at the same time.

    I invested in lightweight tarps and didn't mind tarping that much....company paid $50 and it was worth it for the time and effort it took....

    How about 8' tarps. No rain on trip but as soon as I arive to deliver, stats blowing and pouring! I tried to roll them to PUSH the water out but they were so heavy after rolled I couldn't even move them. Receiver standing just inside the open door staring at me. Load getting wet. Reciever said I'm not driving my fork lift out in That stuff. He procrastinated another hour for the rain to stop before moving the 1 skid in the warehouse that was in the way and had me pull trailer in to unload. Ugggg!

    Sounds about right. I loaded some 2x4s in Alberta once, headed for Billings MT. Has to be tarped, can't get wet. Ok, so why is all this stuff sitting out in the rain waiting to be loaded? Rained like hell most of the way, I never tarped it, they took it off and signed and I left

    All this tarp pricing sounds to me like what mechanics shops do...$250 for the part $600 for the labor and $25 for the fluid.

    Pfff..makes me cringe.
