Chemists are also trained not to wear contacts. You can get prescription safety glasses, or disposables that fit over your glasses. Most got the prescription, but our company covered the cost.

I worked an asphalt maintenance co. My job was driving the tank truck, the tank would be filled with an asphalt sealant. This sealant is a vile mixture, the fumes would burn your skin like a bad sunburn and make your eyes burn. I didn't wear my safety get up just once the end results were that I never again went without the gear.

I don't get why you can't have contacts if you also put goggles on.

    Short answer - Safety first.

Google's are not like a full face scuba mask. All they really prevent is that initial splash... Once that initial splash is over, chances are you'll be trying to get those goggles off and your head / face washed off. At that point, you stand a really good chance of additional exposure.

I talked it over with the Comcar CLT recruiter, and he said you didn't have to have your contacts out all the time. So I'm thinking it won't be so bad, after all.

Are you that vain not to wear glasses. Tanker pays good..
Just remember when putting your contacts back in after lding or unlding clean your hands as you will have residue on your hands and it might get into your eyes

I can't speak for the op, but I can't stand wearing my glasses. For me it HAS nothing to do with vanity. I don't care how I look. I greatly prefer the vision of contacts. I don't like the glares of glasses. I do not like the bad preferial vision. I just dont like how it feels looking through glasses.

    What about Lasik?

I think another reason for not wearing contacts is because if you lose your contacts you are screwed, and it is easier for contacts to be damaged and unusable. I used to keep several sets of disposable contacts with me at all times. I finally either got old enough at 46 my eyes got sick of contacts and I quit wearing them altogether.

If you have ever had a contact accidentally blown or washed out of your eye you would know how easy it is and this would make more sense. Things happen and in some cases you can't be too careful, especially with your eyes.
