In many states, you can earn a living driving professionally with just a Chauffeur license. In fact, here in Michigan, one is required to get a CDL, usually by purchasing it after taking the CDL knowledge and road tests. Here, for example, a Chauffeur license is all that's required to work as a UPS driver, for example, though I don't know about any medical requirements.
There are many ways to begin a professional driving career. Don't let obstacles stop you until your state says "No." -
365 days x24 hours-=8760 hours
50000÷8760 hours =$5 per hour
If you want to live in a box,for $5..go for it! -
You are rediculus. Who works 24 hours a day 365 days a year? I personally am a local driver, there are a lot of us you know. I get home every night and off every weekend, I work 45 to 55 hours a week to make my 50k. This is only my second year. Trucking can be a very good job, it us what you make of it. Stop being so negative and stay on subject.
By the way, what do you do for a living? -
In IL you can drive anything up to 16000 lbs with a regular license, unless it is hazmat. There are a lot of box truck drivers with no cdl here.
-
Some courier services don't require cdl and some do. There's plenty of non-cdl jobs listed on job sites.
