Like @cnsper mentioned, 5/16 will do you just fine. Remember. K.I.S.S. never over think the basics.
Biggest question is this trailer standard tandem or spread axle?
Do you have a dump valve?
Any side boxes?
Do you have a head ache rack?
Why are most flatbed tie down points rated so low?

Using 2 weak links doesn't make the weakest link stronger.
-
Well it kinda does, if a spool is good for 5,000 and you hook to two of them with a 6,600 pound chain neither one of them is receiving more than 5,000 pounds of stress. No different than hooking to two D rings. That's how a crane load line works every part of line you add you get the capacity of the line again even though it's still one cable terminated at one becket.Mr.X Thanks this.

So your telling me that if I have a 9000 lb rated chain going around two 5000 lb rated spools and you run into this rock at 70 mph
The chains will break before the rear 5000 lb spool taking on the g-force of the load? -
From my thinking, in a crash scenario, 100% of the force will always be on the rear spool and I don't see how it makes it stronger other than having to break it twice.
-
If a chain is hooked to a spool then through something the hook to another spool an the load suddenly slides forward the chain is going to pull on both spools not just the rear one. Within reason anyway. If you hook to a spool run over and hook to one on the other side you would definitely get the capacity of both.Mr.X Thanks this.

All trailers are different…mine, the pipe stake is 5000 but, wrapping around a pipe stake and spool equal 10,000
-
I still don't get it.

5400 is a common rating of a 4" strap. Maybe they are taking into considuration a strap with a chain end. That would also cover 5/16 grade 70 at 4700.
P.s. The spools on the combo utility trailers are rated at 6500. -
@TripleSix
Can you try explain this to me.
