I hated reefers, but now I love my reefer. When my truck is asked for to haul dry, I charge more than what they would pay. Yeah, I know, "but it's dry"..and I tell them "yeah i know, but I have a reefer, and I rather find a reefer load that pays more, but if you want my truck, I'll give it to you, however it's a reason I haul a reefer".
On another side, hazmat, some places don't take reefers, but you won't believe the nice light good paying loads you get for reefer hazmat. When it's something that needs to be "protect from freeze" or "keep chilled". Just add e tracs to the reefer to make sure if you haul totes, that you can secure the load with load bars and straps for extra security.
I have heard?

Hi RC, apparently, judging by the car hauler with what looks like a new '57 Chrysler, these "bunker and blower" units were used into the late 50's. A single cylinder motor, turned a fan that blew air over the ice in a bunker behind it. https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/236x/a7/46/37/a74637723590f98835552de5605a966c.jpgrollin coal Thanks this.
