You did the right thing by taking a picture. People love to find fault in coils, there wet, damage and so on.
I had one like that complain that the bottom was wet. Like I was supposed to put a tarp down before they set the coil on the deck and then tarp it.
Take pictures at shipper and receiver every time,.

I use to haul 2 45,000 plus coils at a time when I ran a 5 axle sled between Buffalo and Detroit.Al. Roper Thanks this.

They do it every day. If you got the right equipment, it's no different than a single coil.
-
Wouldn't want to trip across a weighmaster in mi with 90 plus grand on a 5 axle though lol. Look innocent and have your ducks in a row is my motto.
-
In Ohio you can carry up to 3 coils and up to 120,000 pounds on 5 axles as long as they originate from an approved facility.
-
And you have the permit. Many states have higher limits on five axles than 80k, just got to get the permit. Used to be an annual permit for 92 in Florida was ten bucks, for example.
-
That was my fault for not being specific, it was on a 5 axle Reitnouer, 8 axle combination. 140,000 GVRW.
-
Glad you never got caught in michigan if thats what you loaded to. For everyone else a 5 axle trailer in michigan is only good for around 121000 lbs. Not beating up on you as I ran in heavy for years also without getting nabbed lol.

Here is my first coil. I'm learning as I go. I'm open to input/criticism if there is anything I should change.

Man that's a lot of chains. Tho nothing wrong with over securement, I'm too lazy to put that many on. Everything looks good, the only question would be how many coil racks did you put down, and did you use hard wood or soft wood, and rubber matting.
