And just thoughts in general on this setup. I have been running this truck since September and so far I have gotten away with straps mostly...and the few time I have used the 3 chains and binders I have just used the thick main rail on the side/bottom of the bed rail.....the same place my straps go. It also has a long bar running underneath...the length of the bed on both sides. I have hooked my straps to those also. It feels good and I check it often....but I am wondering what is up with this set up??? All of the pockets are half covered at the bottom. And then on the other side I have the C hooks...some thicker than others and some doubled. Any thoughts?
chain pocket/rail question?

The C hooks look like rubber tarp strap holders not for chains, the gap that the winch slides in may or might not be thick enough to hold a chain or binder, you can buy weld on tie downs or best to buy a thick steel strip and weld it to cross members all the way down bottom sides of the bed of your truck that hooks can be wrap over an hooked so a slack chain cant come off on bad roads?

I agree on the C hooks. My winches are welded in place and that bar is not part of a slide. It is a bar welded every 12" to cross beams all the way up both sides. But not as thick as I would hope...baha Thanks this.

I would say the bar thats welded to the crewmembers is what you fasten to. I wouldnt be crazy about that system but not afraid to use it either. I've seen it before. Usually on straight trucks deliver lumber etc.

I wonder if the previous owner had something like theses?

I assume you just bought this truck? Like I said before it looks like a lumber or drywall delivery truck to me. I see them without rub rails fairly often. You could add those chain pull ups if you wanted but make sure you tiw them to the crewmembers to be safe. If its not 102" already the safer and more practical thing to do is to get a conventional rub rail added to it. Then chain to the spools and use the existing straps. Depends what your plans are and how much money you want to spend.

You can buy long sec. of winch slide track at trailer or truck parts store and weld it on other side of winch you have now if you leave some space next to side rail for a chain to be hooked around it.

Yea I brought her home from Reliance Steel and Aluminum in Los Angeles Cali...about 5 months ago.
She is already 102" wide.
