I'm an Owner Op with Central. Good miles, good truck... Except this new crappy Peterbilt, definetly good dispatch. I did quickly learn that if you want detention pay, your logs and macros have to be sent 100% correct. I lost 30hrs of det pay, but now that I corrected my problems with the macros, I'm in top shape. I just wish they can let OOs go atleast 70mph. 65mph is just a tad slow.

I personally would not lease from Central or any other company.
The .85 cpm is just too low, and I personally dont feel a need to run over 3200 miles most weeks.
I take home over 1000 a week allot of the time, and all I have to drive to get that is just over 3000 miles.
A L/O with them or most other company's that have the lease have to drive allot more miles than me to net that, once they factor in taxes, all payments, extra savings (because 10k in acct is just not enough).

I don't see how the company would try and charge that guy for the whole truck though, and tow it. If they expect him to pay over 40k, that is all the truck is worth anyway. I also know that you are leaving out allot of info that lead to that. L/O take off a week allot, it hurts them allot, and costs them allot, because all there payments are still due, but some of them do it.

    Central is a training company.
You act like they are a company to stick with for life when you bash them. Yes you have to watch your paychecks. Heck I have a lumper fee and 2 safety tests I need to talk to payroll about, but I know I will get it, so I am not worried. And I will not even need an attorney to do it.

So please, If you want to bash. Really do your research and give all the info.

Hey, you forgot to mention that they have 1 of the lowest pay packages in the industry and also how they will tell you they are paying practical miles but if you do the research, u will find that they are paying shortest route miles. :biggrin_25523:

    Hey Buster,
u forgot to mention how they have one of the lowest pay packages in the industry and how they will tell u they pay by practical miles but if u do the research u'll find they pay shortest route miles. u also forgot to mention that if u're foolish enough to lease from them how they are only going to pay u 80% of the total miles u run per week on top of only giving u about 86% of the fuel surcharge.:biggrin_25524:

Orentation is in eather Salt Lake City UT, or Conley (Atlanta) GA.
They hold it once a week and will pay for you to get there. Just talk to a recruter.

The problem is you SHOULD NOT HAVE TO chase your money!!!!!!

I kept a book and recorded all my times for detention, 50% of the time they flat out refused to or simply ignored the issue, saying....."well the shipper/receiver is refusing to pay us" .....

central treated me real well the year I spent with them,my dispatcher even though he was a ####### got me miles and got me home every time I wanted within a day or so...

the pay isn't bad at all if you consider the $15.00 on time pay, plus $16.00 an hour detention after 2 hours, I believe that is the highest in the industry...Plus I sweeped out almost every trailer I picked up and collected 10.00 per clean out.

That per diem crap is the pits, they basically pay you something that you get to write off anyway, so you actually make ONLY .21c per mile and they give you some of your tax refund as your pay...sucks but get experiance and move on...

Never lease from any company, EVER!!! I haven't seen a lease yet worth a snot.If you really want your own truck, drive for 2 years, save every dollar you can and throw a nice down on buying your own truck... I was able to save about 18K this last year and as we all know the first few months you get your check deducted like crazy so anyone without a family to support on their second year could easily save 30K...

    Now onto the issue with central and their pay;
I was always shorted a detention, a scale, via point, comcheck etc... EVERY single check was wrong, but I had every single detail written down in my driver load log so I would call mike in Xpay or my dispatcher and it would always get handled. and alot of times my dispatcher would not want to pay me for something or just plain ignore me and I would call cole thompson and he would take care of me without question...He is a very nice guy...

I know it is a pain in the butt to have to keep track of every little thing and make sure you get paid for the things you do, but it is that way with every job, just more so with trucking as a whole and central especially...

here is my load log if anyone wants to see how I did it...This is all the information you will need for macros,comchecks,etc...

    load#5574414 est. miles 580
    BL#2794425 wt. 43,495
    TRL# 545071 cases. 4356
    seal#01460101 deadhead:buttonwillow,ca
    Temp:dry

    p/u code:MBLAS p/u date:3/6
    mandalay bay p/u time: 0700
3950 las vegas blvd arrival time: 0642
las vegas, nv departure time 1500
    89119
    702-632-7777

    del code:WDPOC del date:3/7
    west wood discount del time:1000
    1800 garratt way arrival time:0935
    pocatello,id 83201 departure time:1715
    208-233-6056

    note:
arrival and departure times should match when you send in your macros within 15 mins or so...
    ------------------OWED---------------------------
    $7.50 scale
    $0.00 tolls
    $96.00 (01)
    $96.00 (99)
    $15.00 on time delivery
    $10.00 washout on trl#545071 for 01
$75.00 lumper (put all info on back of log)

Then when I checked my paycheck I would check miles, deadhead and then make sure I got paid for everything i was owed...If it was paid, I wrote paid next to it with the date it was paid and if it wasn't paid, I would highlight it and would call X-pay or dispatcher. once issue was resolved I would then put paid with the date it was paid and put that into my fully paid completed load folder...I also made copies of all my Bills and kept copies of all comchecks and scales etc... and then when the load was completed, I would staple all the paper work to the load log and file it away...great system and I found it to make the job alot easier...Alot of buddies I went to sachool with lost out on alot of money because they didn't write down info re: the loads and never checked their paychecks...Sad but it happens too much and that is why they do it, if you don't catch it, the company makes out, so watch your checks and keep accurate logs of everything you do and everything the company owes you...You are not out there for fun...
