I live in South Florida and I'm getting ready to sign up with Roadmaster. Before I enroll I was wondering if anyone knows of any companies that have schools and will train drivers that live in Florida. I'm willing to travel. CR England and CRST are the only companies I see ads for down here.

Werner will train you but last I heard you'll end up parking your truck in Lithia Springs (Atlanta) Terminal and taking their bus to and from. Probably a lot better outfit and more home time then CRE

The Roadmasters Driver Placement will be able to help you out as well.

My bad, I wasn't clear. I'm looking for a company with a school. Swift won't even take me because I live in Florida.

Comcar has their own school somewhere in Florida; it's somewhere on their website.
They train for all their divisions, tankers, reefers, flatbed. Will pay tuition at private schools also.Last edited: Dec 22, 2015

If you live in Metro Miami there are Trucking schools that offer financial aid....You could get a class A and then apply for Class B local driving job as a delivery driver and be home every night....The pay is generally $16 to $ 21 D.O.E. If you want to go OTR There are plenty of National Co. but they might not hire this far south.
bigounce Thanks this. -
I'd try Comcar first.
Roehl and CRST sometimes run ads for Miami residents. CRST has the shortest time obligation if you can handle running teams for 6 or 7 months.G13Tomcat Thanks this.
