If you did your testing on the ball mount mounted on the roof of a car your changes would have been less drastic. But because the testing was done on the side of a truck the changes were not for the reasons that you thought they were. Getting the coil away from the cab was the biggest thing that caused your changes. That long antennae I made for the T600 I could chop 2 feet off that shaft and attach it to the roof of a car and I might only need to add an inch to the whip to make up the difference. Which is precisely why I said change is above the coil are drastic and changes below the coil are not drastic.

I saw the differences with the coil being to close to the cab..My mount allows either vertical or about a 10-15 degree lean..The minimal lean made noticable positive results..
Nothin like trial n error to see what happens..

Lol i remember my attempt at makeing my predator 10k more of a top load ant by haveing a short 1" tall top mast made..
lol wasnt so simple,it was a PIA to tune useing a longer whip and almost no adjustment space for the whip..

Air outta the suspension will wear out drive line way quicker and if done to tires adds tire wear,mpg goes down

It's pretty crazy to think that subtracting one inch of whip means you probably have to add 6 inches of coil or two feet of shaft to make up the difference. I don't quite understand the science of it.

In my entire life, I have yet to wear out a driveline. Replaced a few u-joints but never a driveline. -

well at 100k gross weight you can still save fuel assuming truck is working right...All bets are off if its an emission truck..
