At the "school" while road training i think there were 3 or 4 of us in the truck at a time. as for "quality?" their job is to make sure you pass your cdl test. your otr training will only be as good as the trainer you have. That's pretty much across the board no matter where ya go.
Stevens transport vs Millis Tranfer? Or anything else near DFW Area?

Another option may actually be NCI (national carriers) of of Dallas. a while back they were advertising on craigslist that they could help folks get their cdls. If they still are doing that, you'd avoid the cdl mill type company. I know several drivers that have been with them for a few years and actually seem happy. newer KW's newer reefers. It's def worth a call. yep just checked, it's on their website as well. just have to be a Texas resident.

I know two guys that went with Stevens about a year ago and they're both crying because of small paychecks and getting stuck in the Northeast on short runs.

Raider Express in Ft. Worth probably get more 1 on 1 training.
Southern Refrigerated Transport - lots of 1 on 1 training hauling produce and frozen food out of California to Florida and points East. They provide hotel room and meals at a community college in Texarkana.
Try these also:
Western Dairy Transport

I'm in the same boat as you, OP. In my research I've found the following "schools" in DFW.....in no particular order....Swift, Werner, Pam, Stevens, Millis, Earl Henderson and NCI. Hoping that all my ducks are in a row, I'll be starting my journey in February with NCI. My reasons are mine alone and I'm sure you have a list of priorities too. Smaller than a mega but not a mom and pop.....very nice equipment....and hopefully a better training environment as they fly a little under the radar in conversations and aren't subject to as many dings as the megas. Good luck with your search.

Due to the lack of votes I decided it will be best not to attend Stevens transport. I'm definitely considering NCI or Raider. If not I'll apply to millis. Thanks for the help guys and Merry Christmas.
