I usually say.. "The load for this lane is paying xxx dollars to the truck, is that going to work for you?? Then I shut up..... At this point the basic sales 101 closing strategy of "He who speaks first, loses...." If they take it, great!! If not..... Next caller!!!!

Nothing wrong with being a company man. They are the backbone of the carrier.

I'm beginning to believe you you somehow work for carb because you keep saying that its just wrong for people to fight him and that would sound like somebody who's employed by them looking for ways to generate revenue

The cost of improving semi truck emissions has fallen largely on drivers (in the form of wages that do not keep up with inflation).

    2004 brought EGR.
    2007 brought DPF
    2010 brought SCR

The 4 year period following each "improvement" has correlated with lower real driver wages. Shippers weren't willing to pay more. Companies weren't willing to profit less. So driver pay is what took the brunt of the assault...

If not for CARB mandates, most companies would have run their older equipment longer or opted for gliders -- lowering their costs and freeing up more money to pay their drivers.

So yes, company drivers should care.

And what exactly would be the legal position? It is a legislated regulation; the time to challenge the regulation was before it was made law.
Currious though about what you think the legal challenge would be, how one would fund the challenge and how a legal team would argue against a regulation that seeks to limit particulates in the atmosphere especially when the technology is available.
Anyone who so desires can mount a legal challenge but then it is also true that anyone who so desires may wrestle an alligator underwater...doubtful that either would have a positive outcome.

Exactly... you just pointed out another example of a government agency interfering with private enterprise screwing with the wages because the companies have to spend extra money thousands of dollars on this useless environmental crap

DY,on this one i disagree with you.
My take on things is that wages have been going down because markets have been opend up.
    Deregulation combined with globolisation.
