Looking at a new heavy spec VNX64T-430 with the D16 600/2050 on a lot and have a question. I got the line sheet and it says it has the Volvo Battery Lifeguard System.
What is that and how does it work?

also what can you tell me about the warm hold feature?

Hey, can't have straight pipes and crank up motors in these new trucks, so you may as well look at driver friendliness, LOL.
I look at everything. Except we have no Pete or KW dealers around my area. And with these new engines you have to be within towing distance of your brands dealer, LOL.

I like the LED headlights and the I-Shift with a 16L engine.

The I-Shift and D series motors are smooth as glass. You'll like it.

How do you like that I-Shift in the winter? With me, I gross 140,000 and run 8 to 12 % grades in the winter.
I know I can run it in manual mode, but do they ever make an upshift or downshift at a bad time that can break traction and spin you out? Or cause you to loose a lot of momentum?

I know with the Allison's, the 6 to 5 shift is good and tight, but then it has a really big gap to 4th, so most guys shift it manual for that reason on the big hills.

Don't pull loads like that, however, the hill assist feature and the traction control system are pretty nice.

    KB3MMX Thanks this.

So I guess even with your lighter loads, no issues in bad traction conditions?

Have you had any issues with it not shifting because of an ABS light on? I delivered a tractor for my dealer once that had an Eaton autoshift in it and I had to shift it manually the whole way because the ABS light came on.
