Whoa Sandfister, just giving some feedback from a former Dart L/O driver. The other dedicated accounts are better, just hold out for one of those jobs. Or, take your own truck to a % pay carrier.

i've gone back and forth a bunch of times about doing the lease thing with Dart. i'm outa the dfw area, so should be in good area for them. just for some reason haven't pulled the trigger yet. Payments on the new trucks seem a tad high, but doable, as long as they can keep ya running. the a GP account would be good, but HEAVY, then there's the time spent if the loads not ready... but that's trucking. As for the age of trailers, i'd be more worried @ unpaid time/miles hunting for an mt.

Not all gp loads are heavy. Scrap loads into the plants will always be heavy, but loads out of the plants, unless you're pulling paper, are generally rather light.
As far as the trailers go, and as I stated in an earlier post, the load pays the same whether you're pulling an ancient trailer or a brand new one. You get paid miles if you get dispatched from your current location to go get an mt, but if they make you wait at a location for an mt, you don't get a dime for waiting. It's BS, and I've expressed my feelings for it, since I've found myself in that situation before, but it just falls on deaf ears. But , it doesn't happen very often.

I don't know how many times I have to tell people this the GP account is not heavy. We mainly haull finished product paper plates, cups, paper towels, toilet paper, the only time we are heavy is when we have scrap or office paper my average load is less than 30000 pounds. As far as the empty trailer situation, usually we are going from one georgia-pacific to another we take a load in we take a load out now I'm not saying I don't have to look for empties but its very rare
