Frame all cleaned up and repainted. Put on 4 new Dayton drive tires I bought for $800 instaled. Then 2 used virgin and 2 matching hight caps for $300 installed. Spent about 30 hours cleaning the frame and about 5 painting.

Also bought some used rubber lines and used mudflat hangers for $100. Mounted the lines but not the mud flaps yet. Officially starting on February 20th. Also be got a deal on an 2500 w inverter-charger- shore power on eBay.

Wow that looks great. I spent a couple of hours scraping, hammering at rust and a couple of more masking and spraying my frame this past summer. What little winter treated roads I have driven on it's already streaking again. What would you charge to do another one? Beer or whiskey is on me, after it gets done of course
I"d give anything to have a building like that? Is that your shop? Nice.

Sounds like a solid investment in a quality pre-emissions truck. Kudos for going through it and bringing back up to solid condition. Sounds like you have your tires worked out, but I've had good luck just going to the tire shop and haggling out a trade for new tires and getting rid of the older ones in one shot. I've been surprised a few times now at what they gave me for trade ins.
A 13sp would have been nice, but I probably wouldn't have put out the 3k difference at this point either. If everything goes well and you have cash saved up soon, you'll wish you had got the 13. If it starts nickel and diming, you'll be happy to have that 3 grand. At some point the nickel and diming slows down once you have most of the accesorials replaced, water pump, a/c comp, air comp, turbo, etc, etc.Road Killer Thanks this. -
What are the used rubber hoses were replaced?

Rollin, probly a giant waste of time and resources but I'll feel better till it starts pealing off.
I know it will cost me for a while but hopefully I'll catch up to it eventually. The tires that were on there we're michilens but over 10 years old so no casing value.
I'm a bit of a gear head so I kind of enjoy the work at this point. I'm sure that will go away once I start relying on it for actual income! Lol
Thanks guys!singlescrewshaker, Ruthless and Road Killer Thank this. -
The hoses were trailer supply lines. The ones I bought were less than 6 months old. It had the rats nest Polly lines on it before.

My opinion...is worth about what its costing you here..lol. But, I would start a list of accessorials. Top of the list would be the ones that could shut you down/require a tow. Check those things out thoroughly and with 700k on it, I would probably just begin replacements. Turbo, injectors, water pump, fuel lines (yep, they can collapse...with some effort, cheap to replace...get em ALL). You've done a lot of good work and it will pay you back. Just keep working on it as you begin to generate revenue. Hopefully you'll have it back up in shape before you get tired of tinkering..lol.
Road Killer Thanks this.
