The one loading or unloading your truck certainly thinks it's an occupation. :)

I think he is asking if forklift work counts as signed contract time, maybe the company he is in has work as forklift operator.
Maybe he has 6 month left in his contract and would rather work as a forklift operator. just my assumptions

I guess English is not your strong point?

Lots of people replied asking clarification on your question.

Does fork lifting count as what?

We don't understand what exactly you are asking?

    White_Knuckle_Newbie and chris887 Thank this.

I'm asking if getting a warehouse job using a forklift would count as a job using my CDL.

My contract is currently with Western Express. I applied with another company(SYMGA. Passed the phone interview and the driver test, physical, and drug test. The DM told me i'm hired and wait for us to contact you about orientation. (This was around Nov 10th)

The HR lady called me a week later and told me something is holding them up from hiring and that I need to talk to the head management. Kinda hard since she was out cuz her dad was on her death bed and she took all of Thanksgiving week off. I finally got the DM to talk the head manager since she never answer me back even after leaving messages on her machine asking her whats going on.(I only messaged her once a week so don't say I was being rude or anything like that.)

He said that they're unable to hire me via contract issues. (This is about Dec 15th-ish)

I should able to go back to WX,but not going during winter season when all they do is East Coast and I'm still pretty much a rookie. Also my physical I did pass but it wasn't so great compared before I got into trucking. I want to lose some weight before I get back in the cage.

Using my phone to type all this out so sorry if things aren't so readable.

    Thanks for the clarification.

No a job driving a forklift does not require a CDL. My brother in law used to drive a forklift for Averitt and he has never had a CDL in his life. It sounds like you have some sort of contractual obligation to WX that is not allowing Symga to hire you as a driver, but that should not prohibit them from hiring you to do something else.

You see when a company hires someone as a CDL driver by law they must do background checks on them contacting any other companies that the person worked for as a driver for the past ten years I believe. This is to see how their safety, accidents, etc track record is. I bet when Symga contacted WX to do this background they were informed that you were contractually obligated to WX and that is why Symga refused to hire you as a CDL driver.

Any non CDL job does not have to contact previous employers by law. Many do contact them to get an idea what kind of employee you were but they don't have to.

If you are just looking for work and it is non CDL I would not worry about it much but it sounds like the waters have already been muddied at Symga.
