No way in hell would i trust them.. I'd rather throw triples and be done with it. I wonder how well those things work after driving threw snow and slush and then freezing.

They are just like everything else on your unit. When you stop to knock snow and ice off you include the arms on the chains as well. They have a light to tell if they moved into position and common sense is to check them when you are in slush before you need them. No need to be scared of them Nate. LOLAnother Canadian driver and KB3MMX Thank this.

Scared? The people that use this crap are the ones that are scared of a little hard work. I've never thrown a set of singles in my life other then on a steer chain and never plan too on any drive tire. 10-15 mins and away I go. Prob take alot longer waiting on a tow when you spin out on the coke with singles on.Another Canadian driver, KB3MMX, MartinFromBC and 1 other person Thank this.

So with that said I wasnt wrong when I said they've been around for at least 10 years.Another Canadian driver, MartinFromBC and tucker Thank this.

Singles are junk in my opinion. If youre in a situation where you need chains best be throwing a set of triples on.
Actually the only time I wish I had singles is when Im in a empty tri-drive logger with full lockers at the bottom of the Coq when the chain up sigh is on and CVSE is there to make sure you have them on. I hate wrecking a set of trygg triples driving on pavement.Another Canadian driver and MartinFromBC Thank this. -

Well they are not idiot proof, so stick with what you are used to.You too Dragon88 LOLAnother Canadian driver and daf105paccar Thank this. -
Exactly Nate, great to see some get it. Its usually the lazy that buy this junk or dont want to throw real chains. They're also the same drivers that spin out and shut down the Coq for hours.Another Canadian driver and MartinFromBC Thank this.

this is dumb

You just gave the biggest advantage off the automatic chains..........use when needed.
Flick a switch.
Like any tool they have good and bad .
I have yet to find any tool that does it all.Another Canadian driver, KB3MMX and not4hire Thank this. -
They're really directed towards occasional or intermittent users, like fire trucks or local delivery. When your house is burning down you don't want them stopping to chain up.Another Canadian driver, KB3MMX, MartinFromBC and 3 others Thank this.
