I'm in a place with very unreliable internet connectivity and somehow it saved the part I wrote before the connection broke and then came back. I posted the reply before carefully proofreading...I hate slow, unreliable internet connections.

I did discover something interesting. According to the bronze plate, the truck was "bilt" in January 2013, but the registration says it's a 2014. -

Model year changes at discretion of the Manufacturers nothing set in stone that it has to be January
Besides there are 2017s already available http://www.truckpaper.com/list/list...e=All&Cond=All&CTRY=usa&SO=2&btnSearch=Search
And here is a good link to get info on your vehicles off the VIN #

At first I thought this was an odd thread, but if I was to get into a new peterbilt . I wouldn't have a clue what model number I was in. 362 359 377 379 389 i'm ok. Other than those I'm clueless.

359 are the classics ... typically duel round headlights but also had duel square in some years...best way to ID is look for the inlet hose coming from the air filters to the side of the hood.
379s have duel square headlights and no inlet hose from the air filter to the hood
389s have more space type headlights kinda round and square
