The lonestar is out of searcy ar. When the company first started the three million mile trucks the driver got to pick the color of the truck so someone in the fleet might have ordered a white one.

the Fleet was recently recognised as the safest fleet of 2015 by ATA. Most people that bash have been rejected, fired or delusional from too many weeks of being OTR and trucker talk. The level of misinformation is over the top regarding Wal Mart Transportation. There will always be the whiners and malcontents that are here, what they expect is puzzling...outsiders believe everything they hear, made worse by social media and chat rooms/sites. Most companies don't have retirement as the leading reason for drivers leaving.
If most of these Yahoos want to drive for less and stay out longer, not too mention the lack of job security due to all eggs being in one basket, then please stay where you are. Not too many companies paying what we get paid for easy work. The choice is easy in my book and I am far from a kool-aid drinker. -
I totally agree %100 dude

The vast majority of drivers who come here and love it knowing full well that while no job is perfect this one is far better than most. That driver can call it hype all he wants but the way we're treated, what we're asked to do, and what and how we're compensated for doing it is way better than I've experienced before and I've experienced a lot. If premo benefits are the most important thing and your present job has that, then you should by all means stay there, but if decent benefits great pay and a great environment outweighs only having great benefits, then you should try to come on board and retire from a strong stable and growing company like the rest of us are doing otherwise be quiet and simply go away.

As far as benefits go now, it is set up for people who have health problems daily. If you always have to go to a doctor then yes the medical will be beneficial to you. If not, then its like insurance on your car. You pay all the time and basically never use it. It won't change for the better either. You want primo insurance and pay pennies for it? Go get a government job. As demi said, I'm far from the kool aid you na sayers speak of. I'm happy with my schedule, what I'm asked to do, how I'm treated, and the benefits even though they could be better.
Woodenleg, noninetofive and demi Thank this. -
When Obamacare kicked in, we went from $104 every 2 weeks with a family, and an 80/20 to $150 every 2 weeks and a 75/25. That is far from Walmarts fault. Even with their buying power, they could not negotiate a better deal for their millions of employees. This year, in my area, they have partnered up with Banner. The same 75/25 is now $104 every two weeks. Same co-pays we had before also. So we are really happy with that. They are trying to think outside of the box, and use their buying power to get a better deal for their employees.
Why would you not use the Walmart or Sams pharmacy anyway?? Support the company you work for. Plus, they are everywhere.
Short of union insurance, you will not find better. Just as a comparison, at my husbands X company, we were paying $150 a week for my husband and me, and buying our sons insurance separately from BCBS for an additional $110 a month. It had a higher deductible, also.
For Mr Negative Nancy about safety............ that is real rich. There is no safer large fleet in the business. One issue does not a pattern make. No company works on safety harder than Walmart does. What an individual driver decides to do, they cannot control. However, the culture of safety at the company is amazing. How many companies will recognize the driver as being the Captain of his own ship, that can shut down if he determines that the conditions are not safe to continue.................. with no problems from the company?? Very few. It is push, push, push, no matter what is happening. Learn about the culture of safety at Walmart Transportation, so you can talk from the proper perspective.grabberblue12, drozzer69, Ron_G_Sr and 3 others Thank this. -
Everyone knows all the pay and insurance details before starting the job. Yes they are subject to change year to year . Some things we can't change.
It's been a great career for me allowing me to live very comfortable .
The money is here to be made . Finished the year 200.00 shy of a 107,000 working 5 days a week. Life is good god bless -
