Wiring harness, Check and clean all grounds and ground straps, etc. Worth a try
-
One other thing is check the voltage from the alternator mount to the right frame rail. I use to add a ground strap, stray voltage will do amazing things.

I chased a charging problem with my old 3406B in my Marmon for about 3 months. Replaced everything and no fix. Tried running a battery cable one day from the ground post on the alternator to the frame. Problem was solved.

We had an "E" and a s60 that both developed a high power miss, and we chased it for while before we found the ground to the alternator no mater what size cables was not great, we made up a #8 wire for it the S60, the driver was amazed. and called us, congratulating us on fixing it, we then checked the "E" and got parts to stock a #4 automotive battery cable with two 3/8 eyes on it 3 ft long. We installed that cable on most every repair after that.
