I agree on the wiring harness. Also wiggle the plug on the pass thru connector that is out side the rocker box. The wire strands break inside the insulation. You can't see it but can feel it if you know what your looking for. Wiggling those with the idle set bout 1300 usually tells the tale. However the sounds almost like Jake is in sounds like an intake valve too tight. They will come and go sometimes. Yes the injector codes need to be programmed but this don't cause a miss

    KAK Thanks this.

you said you installed a marine cam. have you done an injector cutout test? you say the engine is all stock except the cam right? the marine cams have a tendency to bring out the imperfections in the injectors.

Yes, everything else is stock besides the cam. I haven't had a cutout test done. I have checked temps at the exhaust manifold and they appear to be uniform (not that THAT tells us much).

there are (trim #) on each injector that has to be programed into the ecm for that particular cylinder. it will run with out having the correct trim for the correct cylinder. but may show other issues in the way it runs. the trim # is a four digit # per injector. on an a-cert it is a longer # that has to be loaded with a file for each injector.

that slight miss you hear maybe from the cam's sharp lift on the lobes. being that everything is stock that may not of been a good idea to of installed just the cam.

Ok. I bought the one that goes to the injectors. I appreciate the good info, superhauler. I'm curious why you think the cam might be a bad idea? Am I damaging other components? I'm far from being a mechanic, so I'm just trying pick up any good information I can get.

this is what I learned about those cams. the sharp ramp on the lobes is sometimes to quick for the ecm to keep up with. unless you install bigger injectors and then a better turbo along with a good ecm file. but that is all I going to say because we are not allowed to disscuss some of this stuff on here. sorry.
