Northern Indiana -

Rain will gradually taper off today with primarily dry conditions expected by afternoon. A second wave of rain is then expected on Monday. This rain will likely begin as a period of freezing rain and sleet Monday morning before becoming all rain from south to north by afternoon. Additional rainfall amounts of up to an inch are possible and may cause additional flooding, primarily along and south of US-24. A light glaze of ice is also possible Monday morning, primarily north of US-24. Strong east winds of up to 45 mph will also be possible Monday afternoon and evening. These winds could cause minor tree damage and sporadic power outages.

Anyone traveling through Missouri, keep your radios on. Sections of I 70 are closed around St. Louis, I 49 was closed around Carthage earlier, some of the entrance and exit ramps are flooded in different areas and now I am hearing that they anticipate closing a section of I 44 by morning.

 

This storm system is massive and moving ....so much so that it is hard to keep up with all that is happening. I believe they have updated and upgraded what they are anticipating in the form of ice in Pennsylvania......heads up, Pete.....although I know that you are already checking on it.
