I make them money by delivering safely and on time, and they make me money by...
    Full circle.
I really doubt my DM was too broken up when he didn't get a gift from all his drivers.
Maybe in a DM forum he was crying like the OP?

All im saying is it would be nice for an emplOyer to show that they appreciate their employees. Just something small. If you dont value yourself as an employee thats your problem. I bust my ### all year, I think im worth at least a card, hell I get cards from my insurance company, mortgage company, bank, dealer I bought my car from, motorcyle shop I buy things at.......... but not my employer, its insulting.
I have had 7 jobs since I was 16, even at the part time minimum wage fast food job I got a card and $10 gift card. Its the decent thing to do

    Yes, it would be nice.

But to get into a huff over it just places more stress on yourself.
    Is it really worth it?

And I do value myself as an employee.
But my value as an employee has nothing to do with a card or something 'special' in return - it has to do with the job I am doing.

That's because I place my value on how well I do my work. It is personal to me alone.
It does not depend on the gratuities.

Im just venting. Its just a small piece to the puzzle. I am confused because I like my job, I like my direct boss and dispatcher, but I strongly dislike upper management. They screw us every way possible. New ownership froze pay, took away some paid holidays, changed 401k and insurance, they expect more work in less time, the christmas thing is just the icing on the cake.

But the nice thing is, you can go somewhere else if you choose to do so.

Yes, thats where my confusion comes in, trying to decide if the good outweighs the bad. I am on edge now. I Like my job, pay is ok, schedule is great. But I am stuck at entry pay because pay froze 1 week before my first scheduled raise. I guess I will see what the new year brings, hopefully it gets better like they claim it will, otherwise may be time to move on.

If your pay 'at the moment' is your highest priority the choice is clear.
But, perhaps, if you stick it out, things might get much better.

The grass is not always greener on the other side.

You like it there, and you like your schedule.
The only thing is the pay freeze.
    Well, ...

    chris887 Thanks this.

Think before you jump, i could make a few more dollars an hour if i moved but, the start time would cause me to need a second car. Math says bad call. So i stay for now.

I got $200 extra pay on top of my mileage for the day.
When I returned to the yard I was given a Christmas card with a Target Gift card for $100.

    My company is so cool!
