Sometimes you run across people so insular in their existence it boggles the mind. I once stopped at my favorite hard ice cream shop in Sultan, Washington after enjoying a weekend of rock climbing in Leavenworth, WA in August. There was a vintage Cadillac in front of the shop. In the shop at the ice cream counter was a woman in a fur coat in 80° talking effusively about how she had never been out of Seattle in her entire life. Her husband died a few months ago and she was having a big adventure driving more than 50 miles from her home.
On the one hand I wanted to shake my head at the sadness of living a life so close to what you know. On the other hand I congratulated her on stepping out and living life "on the edge."

Yes it's a blast wish I got to it more often.
When I was working a construction job we had to shut down a road near one of 6 entries to a community we had this lady pull up that first morning and ask how she supposed to go to work we directed her towards another entry. Then she asked how to go from there we asked her how long she's lived there. Her answer 7 years and had never come in or left out of any entry other than the one we blocked off.Lepton1, tucker, Daria and 1 other person Thank this. -
